ORCA FAQs

How often and how much can I feed the ORCA?

You can feed the ORCA continuously. The ORCA is always digesting food waste, and each model has a specific capacity.

Does the machine ever need to be turned off?

No, the ORCA is designed to run continuously and should not be turned off.

Is there any residue left over that needs removal?

All food waste is directed straight into the drain, leaving no residual food waste to be removed.

How does the process work?

ORCA uses an aerobic digestion process to convert food waste into effluent that’s safe for municipal wastewater systems. This breakdown is accelerated by our unique combination of proprietary microorganisms, Bio Chips, oxygen, and water. Notably, ORCA doesn’t grind or chop the food waste. Its mechanics solely mix the waste for better aeration and oxygen distribution, leading to minimal electricity consumption.

Are there any chemicals used in the ORCA?

No. The microorganisms used are naturally occurring and harmless. While it’s advisable to take standard precautions when handling ORCA food waste or effluent, they don’t pose any environmental or health risks.

How long is the installation process?

Installation and training are completed on the same day. We ensure that all staff members are educated about ORCA, offering continued support during the initial phases.

Does the ORCA have a scale? How can I access this data?

Yes, each model comes with onboard scales to track the weight of every piece of food added. This data is recorded and accessible via the ORCA Portal, a personalized dashboard where you can analyze real-time data and generate custom reports.

We offer a full-service & consumables package with zero upfront payment. What's included?

Our service technicians visit monthly to ensure your ORCA is functioning optimally and to replenish consumables. All consumables are covered in the package with no additional charges.

How does ORCA help achieve our company's CSR goals?

ORCA offers a “no-truck” food waste recycling solution, which means reduced CO2 emissions and less traffic congestion. By diverting food waste from landfills and engaging employees, you foster a sustainable culture and awareness, making a positive impact on our environment.
